Taste of the Danforth
Greektown TO
On the second week of August, Peachy and I went to Krinos Taste of the Danforth. It was safe to say that it was a Greek food festival. You can also say Opa! now. This is the second food festival I went to after the Waterfront Night Market which was all Asian. Three subway stations were closed for this Greek food festival. The festival stretches from Broadview to Pape Station. Taste of the Danforth is also the biggest food festival in Canada.
Needless to say, it was an easier way to commute it than to drive and risk not getting a parking space. We got off at Broadview station and followed the crowd to the fesstival. We went there early with the sun still up. Here are some of the photos, mostly of ourselves because food and us go really well together (TEEHEE!):
Food bought: Pulled pork Sandwich, Coconut juice on a Coconut, Roasted Corn, Gelato, Mixed fried platter, Churros and a lot of water! Cost? Less than $50!
TIP: Wear a hat/cap if you are going in the afternoon when the sun’s still very high up. You don’t want your face burnt. Also, bring a friend who’s willing to share the food with you. The serving is pretty big.
